IEEE Fellow, Prof. Moshe Zukerman

Biography
Moshe Zukerman received his B.Sc. in Industrial
Engineering and Management and his M.Sc. in Operation Research from
Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. degree in
Engineering from The University of California Los Angeles in 1985.
During 1986-1997 he served in Telstra Research Laboratories (TRL).
During 1997-2008 he was with The University of Melbourne. In Dec 2008,
he joined City University of Hong Kong where he is a Chair Professor of
Information Engineering. He has served on the editorial boards of
various journals such as IEEE JSAC, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking
and IEEE Communications Magazine. Prof. Zukerman has over 200
publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings, has been
awarded several national and international patents, two conference best
paper awards and honorary Professorships at CCNU, Wuhan; CityU, Hong
Kong; and BJTU, Beijing. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and has served as a
member and Chair of the IEEE Koji Kobayashi Computers and Communications
Award Committee.

IEEE Fellow, Professor Rodney A. Kennedy

Professor
Rodney Kennedy received his BE from the University of New South Wales,
Australia, ME from the University of Newcastle, and PhD from the Australian
National University (ANU). He is a Fellow of the IEEE and is currently Director
of Research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at ANU in
Canberra. His research interests are broadly in the fields of signal processing,
digital and wireless communications, and acoustical signal processing.

Dr. Yi Pan,
Chair and Professor

Yi Pan received the BEng and MEng degrees in computer engineering
from Tsinghua University, China, in 1982 and 1984, respectively, and the PhD
degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in
1991. He is the chair and a professor in the Department of Computer Science and
a professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems at Georgia State
University. Dr. Pan’s research interests include parallel and distributed
computing, networks, and bioinformatics. Dr. Pan has published more than 100
journal papers with over 40 papers published in various IEEE journals. In
addition, he has published more than 150 papers in refereed conferences. He has
also authored/edited 34 books (including proceedings) and contributed many book
chapters. Dr. Pan has served as an editor-in-chief or editorial board member for
15 journals including 6 IEEE Transactions, and a guest editor for 10 journals.
He has organized many international conferences and workshops and has also
served as a program committee member for several major international conferences
such as INFOCOM, GLOBECOM, ICC, ICDCS, IPDPS, and ICPP. Dr. Pan has delivered
more than 10 keynote speeches at many international conferences and is a speaker
for several distinguished speaker series. Under his leadership, all assistant
professors in his department have received the prestigious US National Science
Foundation’s CAREER Award and the department is producing about 10 PhDs each
year.

Prof.
Cheng Tee Hiang
Associate Professor and Associate Chair (Administration)

Biography
Dr Cheng Tee Hiang received his BEng and PhD degrees in Electrical and
Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in 1988 and
1992, respectively. He is a faculty member of Nanyang Technological
University (NTU), where he began his academic career as a lecturer in
March 1992 and was subsequently promoted to senior lecturer and then
associate professor. He also served on a two-year secondment, from June
2002 to June 2004, to the Institute for Infocomm Research, as Principal
Research Scientist and Head of the Lightwave Department. While with NTU,
Dr Cheng held the concurrent appointment of Director of Network
Technology Research Centre from April 1998 to April 2002. He has been
appointed Head of Communication Engineering Division for a period of
three years, from 1 July 2005. He has been involved in a couple of major
research programs in Singapore. From 1998 to 2001, he was the Research
Manager of the US$15 million Singapore Advanced Research and Education
Network (SingAREN) project. From February 2002 to April 2004, he led the
US$10 million Optical Network Focused Interest Group (ONFIG) Optical
Access Network Program. Dr Cheng has published more than 70 research
papers in international refereed journals, presented more than 70 papers
at international conferences, and filed three patents. He is a
co-founder of RFNet Technologies Pte Ltd, which specialises in the
design of wireless and broadband networking products. Presently, he is a
technical editor of IEEE Communication Magazine and a senior member of
IEEE.
